Senior QHSE Engineer  Basingstoke on a permanent basis

The newly upgraded office is a landmark feature on Basing View in central Basingstoke, with ample parking and only a five minute walk from the mainline railway station.
Role Overview/Purpose
Support and advise HSEQ Management and engineers on HSEQ matters on a project basis. Develop and align procedures with corporate requirements, champion continuous improvement activities and auditing, including, but not limited to, liaising with the certifying and other audit bodies during visits; provide support and act as auditee.
Projects – Engineering and QHSE
  • Apply knowledge of quality systems and tools to validate and verify contractually required standards for project execution.
  • Conduct research on behalf of the project team; e.g. legislation, standards, country specific information.
  • Act as Project Discipline Lead for QHSE on projects, be present at project meetings, and assist in development of Project Plans.
  • Apply knowledge of QHSE systems and UK law to provide support to other companies on HSE Management Systems.
  • Monitor compliance with corporate and project QHSE requirements and locally applicable rules and regulations.
  • Perform project audits to management systems standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Provide administrative support within the department when required such as assistance with Company Library and Archive and procurement process for QHSE department.
Support to General Services relevant to HSE compliance of the building.
Essential Skills
  • Working knowledge of QHSE systems and UK law and regulations
  • Time served working knowledge of quality systems and tools
  • Experience and knowledge of maintaining and operating management systems to the guiding standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001.
  • Trained auditor for at least one of the following accreditations: ISO 9001,ISO 14001 or ISO 45001
  • Strong ability to maintain accurate and reliable records
  • Excellent and effective prioritising skills, whilst remaining focused on each area of responsibility
  • Strong decision making skills and ability and keenness to work as part of a team
  • Adaptability, self-motivation and agility
  • Excellent communication and personal skills, dealing with people at all organisation levels
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Power Point and Excel skills
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working in the Oil &Gas sector
  • QHSE Project support experience
  • Familiarity with Facilities / Building Maintenance activities would be advantageous
Educated to Degree level, ideally in a relevant subject such as Engineering or Quality Management.
Professional accreditations would be advantageous.
