Client performs a key role as part of the Development Function supporting the engineering for all the businesses (Upstream, Midstream and Downstream).
 
The newly upgraded office is in central Basingstoke, with ample parking and only a five minute walk from the mainline railway station.
 
Role Overview/Purpose
 
 
 
 
Provide technical expertise and organisational input to process engineering activities on a wide range of projects from studies and design, to troubleshooting, commissioning and decommissioning.
 
Ability to manage time effectively, ensuring that goals and requirements of the project are met and issues are effectively communicated and resolved.
 
Ability to lead, motivate, share knowledge and be accountable for projects and team alike.
 
Demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude to the team and to external customers and stakeholders. Enthusiasm and flexibility are keen attributes.
 
Provide technical innovation and a keenness to move the company forward in terms of continuous improvement.
 
Drive performance through the full life cycle of the project ensuring all deliverables are met, budget and schedule, as well as maintaining technical integrity of the designs.
 
Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
  • Act as technical specialist and where applicable lead process engineers on projects and engineering activities
  • Undertake detailed calculations to develop the design and be responsible for the accuracy of these calculations
  • Ensure detail design methods, standards and data used conform to requirements
  • Prepare Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment specifications, Process Descriptions and P&IDs for review and approval
  • Regularly review the suitability and accuracy of technical standards and procedures and develop new ones as required
 
  • Take responsibility for the checking and approval of process calculations in accordance with procedures.
  • Where required, supervise the technical activities of others to complete work to the required technical standard.
  • Coordinate and expedite discipline and multidiscipline interfaces for areas of responsibility
  • Undertake short term visits to a wide range of operating site and geographic regional offices worldwide.
  • Keep abreast of new legislations on plant design and performance
  • Ability to undertake design of oil and gas process systems and equipment
  • Ensure a high standard of safety is maintained and Environmental and Quality Assurance processes are followed
 
 
   
Essential Knowledge and Experience
 
 
 
 
 
  • Good experience of process simulation, preparation of standard process documents such as PFDs/UFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, duty specs, CEDs, process narratives etc.
  • Strong technical experience working in processes engineering
  • Experience working in a project environment in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the main Oil and Gas treatment processes
  • Ability to lead a team, dealing with and providing solutions to interdisciplinary technical issues
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English language
 
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
 
  • Experience preferred in Upstream Engineering
  • Working knowledge of Italian language
Qualifications
 
 
 
 
Ideally Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline (preferably Chemical Engineering)
 
Member of a relevant Institution, Chartered Engineering status would be advantageous.
