Job/Person Summary
 
EC&I Technicians are responsible for ensuring that all planned operational and preventive maintenance tasks are carried out on a daily, weekly and monthly basis are compliant with all relevant Company policies and procedures, local regulations and in line with UK best practice.
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintaining electrical installations & equipment
  • Assist CAD designer to as build existing equipment with surveys, etc.
  • Routine inspection of Atex hazardous area equipment
  • Testing of alarms and safety systems
  • Fault finding on electrical systems
  • Testing of Portable Appliances
  • Installation of light industrial wiring systems
  • Undertaking work based risk assessments
  • Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with Company policies & procedures and relevant approved codes of practice.
 
Production/Operation/Service Delivery
 
  • Participating in an emergency standby Rota.
  • Carrying out LPG ship discharge operations
  • Carrying out maintenance of mobile plant
  • Maintenance and operational support of CHP engines
 
Performance Management
 
The post holder will be expected to contribute to their annual performance development review and interim performance reviews (this process is currently under review).
 
 
 
 
 
Health and Safety
The post holder will be responsible for their own health and safety and the impact of their advice and actions on others and seeks guidance as appropriate.  They will be responsible for identifying any possible risks or near misses via the Hazard reporting procedure.
 
Any other duties
The post holder shall perform such duties and observe and conform with such reasonable instructions as director by Senior Management/Directors.

Attributes Essential or Desirable
Qualifications & Training
 
A minimum of City & Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Theory and Practice Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent).
 
CompEX Ex 01-04 Installation, inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment in hazardous areas.
NB: an unqualified candidate must be willing to upskill.
 
City & Guilds 2382 18th edition wiring regulations
NB: an unqualified candidate must be willing to upskill.
 
Basic knowledge of systems covering standby generators, PLC controls & instrumentation, AC & DC wiring systems, 3 phase motors and starters (DOL, Star Delta, VSD, etc.,).
 
Undertake training and assessment as required to provide or confirm competence for the range of tasked activity.
