Engineering & Consultancy Services (ECS) team in Woking is therefore looking to add to its team of talented engineers in support of a growing workload into exciting new markets and sectors. Whether working at the design stage to find the optimum solution, or supporting in-service assets to safely extend life, we undertake expert analysis of structures using advanced engineering software tools or traditional hand calculations. We support a wide portfolio of work, from the rapidly evolving new energy market, to ensuring that the best value can safely be obtained from existing assets. This range results in a varied, interesting and technically challenging role that would suit someone with a background in the analysis of offshore wind turbines, the flexibility to adapt to performing advanced analysis on a range of structures, and the drive to perform in a fast-paced, consultancy environment.

The Role You’ll provide expert analysis for wind turbines and provide support to the design of new fixed and floating offshore structures, perform critical support and structural troubleshooting to in-service assets, and use your integrity assessment skills to tackle a broad range of consultancy challenges. Skills and Qualifications The ideal candidate for this role will have:
A good Mechanical, Structural or similar engineering master’s degree
An excellent understanding of the fundamentals of solid mechanics and fatigue of metallic materials
Good communication skills combined with an excellent standard of written and spoken English
Experience in:
Aeroelastic analysis of fixed or floating wind turbines, using Bladed or similar software
General-purpose FE software such as Abaqus
Chartered Engineer status with a recognised professional institution
It would also be advantageous to have experience in:
Offshore analysis software such as DNV Sesam or Orcaflex
Analysis of offshore structures
Wind turbine analysis on floating foundation
Hydrodynamic analysis of floating structures
Engineering consultancy
Offshore design and assessment codes and recommended practices
Nonlinear assessment
Dynamic / modal assessment
Fatigue of offshore structures
Fracture mechanics
Structural assessment and appraisal
Blast design
Fixed and floating structures
Python, VBA, Javascript or other programming language used for engineering purposes

Key Responsibilities
Performing analysis of wind turbine and other offshore structures via hand calculation and finite element analysis
Performing roles up to and including Lead Engineer on concept and FEED design projects
Producing clear and concise consultancy and technical reports
Preparing and/or checking specifications, design calculations, drawings and MTOs quickly and efficiently.
