  • Location = Woking, UK.
  • Salary = Negotiable for the right candidate. Ball park – 100k base.
  • Start Date = As soon as preferred candidate is available.
  • Sponsorship = Would be considered.
  • LAND STATION / SUBSTATION – The candidates will have knowledge of onshore or offshore substations for High Voltage AC and High Voltage DC
  • AUTHORITIES – The candidates will have knowledge and experience working with Government Statutory Bodies and Local Authorities from a design, construction stage.

PROJECT ENGINEERING MANAGER-ONSHORE LAND STATIONS
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Ensure quality and technical excellence, provide key managerial, administrative & technical
support and boost morale of the Team members for the jobs under supervision. Provide
necessary technical guidance to lead engineer and all team members on job to ensure smooth
working of both home-office & offsite offices.
 Shall have execution experience in managing the Construction, commissioning, interfacing with
multiple parties who are involved in building a large facility for extra high voltage electrical
substations or large EHV switchyards in the UK / European region.
 Fully conversant with Construction Design ad management (CDM) requirements, preparing
dossiers in accordance with same.
 Able to lead, communicate with local government representatives to understand local design
codes and standards applicable to the Onshore electrical large substations
 Lead, direct and manage engineering task force assigned to deliver engineering for various
HVAC & HVDC wind projects or proposals.
 Participate in planning, scheduling, preparing multi-disciplinary tender documents.
 Able to participate in various risk review sessions, design optimization initiatives, Resource
deployment, budgeting, and cost control.
 Participate in Proposal Cost review meeting with management.
 Provide necessary support and guidance to Project Control, Construction and Commissioning.
 Participate in Contract Review process and provide required inputs to Lead Engineer.
 Interact with other discipline within  as well as with Client, Original equipment
manufacturers, Sub-contractors as and when required in close consultation with the lead.
 Review all key documents before issue and ensure that all systems are in place for preparation of
engineering documents.
 Identify opportunity cost effective measures for value engineering and design optimization.
 Guide and support lead engineers to carry out risk/reward/technical integrity studies of Electrical
systems.
 Review engineering problems and guide the team in selecting safe, efficient and economical
solution.
 Able to lead and manage multidisciplinary and multilocation teams to deliver high quality
engineering solutions for Offshore HVAC/HVDC projects.

 Ability to effectively motivate, lead and direct a multi-cultural team.
 Able to understand and manage complex Interface requirements with regards to the large
onshore land stations (Electrical substations).
 Able to convince and direct constructability and risk reviews and mitigate the problems
encountered.
 Ensure Seamless coordination and Interface within various parties i.e. Client, Project Team,
Engineering Team, Vendors, Installation and Construction Contractors.
 Effective Scheduling and Monitoring of Engineering Deliverables to achieve timely completion.
 Provide technical advice for various engineering activities including system design, equipment
design and analysis, installation procedures and support, operating procedures, and training.
 Review of critical project design deliverables and philosophies to verify and ensure reliability,
compliance with specifications, contract technical requirements and functional integrity.
 Ensures that all required HSE norms are adhered to at the work place and in design.
 Act as the Company's focal representative with Clients, suppliers, partners and third party sub-
contractors ensuring that Company interests are both optimized and protected.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
 Overall experience on executing the large Onshore Land Station (extra high voltage electrical
substation) related work
 Possess good knowledge of relevant local codes & standard from the UK and European region,
DNV-GL, IEC, BS, IEEE.
 Very good leadership qualities, strong communication skills
 Shall possess ability to grasp other international standards and Client specifications as
demanded by work.
