9 month contract role that has an immediate start
Target limited company rate to man of circa £60.00 per hour.
Leatherhead (Hybrid working, 3 days office, 2 at home)
The role is likely to be outside IR35 but the final decision will be made after a Qdos assessment
Roles and Responsibilities
Under general supervision independently applies advanced environmental engineering techniques, makes decisions on environmental engineering problems and methods.
Capabilities should include developing the environmental budgets for complex industrial processes (e.g. assessing and calculating atmospheric emissions, liquid effluents and wastes) and advising engineering teams on Best Available Techniques (BAT).
Supporting technical experience may include undertaking greenhouse gas (GHG) calculations, air quality assessments (preferably a knowledge of dispersion modelling), BAT assessments, environmental noise assessments and environmental risk assessments, involvement in environmental impacts identification (ENVID) workshops, support to environmental impact assessments (EIA), health impact assessments (HIA), socio-economic assessment (SIA) and sustainability appraisal.
Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted as an environmental interface extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice.
Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 7 years related experience - with average experience ranging from 10+ years.
Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (MIChemE), or equivalent, including Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (MIEMA) and Chartered Environmentalist.
