Permanent staff Senior Mechanical  Static Engineer Basingstoke Hampshire
We require an engineer and a senior engineer
Competitive salary in the region of £42k to £55K depending on experience and company benefits

As a member of the engineering team  UK Branch you will be responsible for:
  • Be aware and evaluating the effect of new/modified legislation on plant mechanical design and performance.
  • Ensuring all activities necessary to guarantee the design of a ‘safe’ plant are performed.
  • Producing drawings/data sheets based on input from process data sheets and basic engineering design data (BEDD).
  • Producing technical data sheets/drawings using AUTOCAD for the drafting.
  • Undertaking thermal design of heat transfer equipment using HTRI software
  • Carrying out mechanical calculations of pressurized equipment and storage tanks according to ASME/API and EN13445 codes using industry recognized software.
  • Producing material requisitions and undertake technical evaluations of Vendor bids
  • Providing advice and guidance to others regarding; design, material selection, manufacturing and inspection requirements of the main International Pressure Vessel Codes (eg EN13445, PD 5500 and ASME VIII Divisions 1 & 2)
  • Technically evaluating Contractor’s bids and respond to technical clarifications.
  • Reviewing Contractor’s documents and specifications.
  • Coordinating with other internal engineering disciplines, inter-hub and Contractors’ static equipment specialists.
  • Have a working knowledge of relevant IOGP standards and developments.
  • Keeping abreast of trends and developments within the industry particularly those pertaining to the development path 
  • Coordinating and expediting discipline and multidiscipline interfaces for areas of responsibility.
  • Critically reviewing the suitability and accuracy of technical standards and procedures and develop new ones as required.
 
This is the opportunity for you if you have these skills and requirements:
  • Experience of technical and team leadership within a project environment working in the O&G industry or energy sectors either as a Contractor or Company Personnel.
  • Onshore and offshore O&G experience.
  • Proficient in the thermal design of heat exchangers and the mechanical design of static equipment.
  • Good knowledge of proprietary heat exchangers and selection criteria.
  • Working knowledge of materials of construction and assessment of degradation systems.
  • Knowledge of prevalent international codes and standards
  • Excellent written and oral English language.
  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering. Ideally working towards becoming a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
