Senior Materials Engineer / Metallurgist
Start date – ASAP
Location – Leatherhead or Aberdeen
Duration - 6 - 9 months +
Project - BP Tortue
Limited company rate - £55.00 per hour depending on qualifications / experience.
Briefly and when resourcing for candidates please note that candidates must -
- Have a B.Sc. in Materials Engineering or recognised equivalent qualifications.
- Have significant experience in the specification and selection of materials particularly used in low temperature gas processing facilities.
- Be living preferably in an easy daily commuting distance of Leatherhead / Aberdeen
Will be responsible for materials selection and preparation of deliverables (MSD, Philosophies, MSG, corrosion assessment study) for a gas processing project.
Candidates must be proficient in using corrosion assessment software (ECE5).
Low temperature process plant facility material specification and selection experience is essential.
Welding, General corrosion and Cathodic Protection skills are expected.
Able to supervise junior engineers.
Job success will depend on interpersonal skills and the effective interaction with others. Selected personnel will be highly competent in written and spoken communication and therefore be able to make effective presentations and write technical reports.
The minimum qualification requirements for this position are –
A B.Sc. degree in Materials Engineering or a recognised equivalent and a full professional qualification as a Chartered Engineer.
Full membership of the Institution of Materials, Minerals, and Mining or a recognised equivalent is preferable.
Membership of TWI, ICorr and/or NACE would be an advantage.
Relevant Gas processing project design engineering experience is essential.
